    K. Terry, founder of The Paper Riot Store

    From the studio

    Hello, I'm K. Terry.

I started The Paper Riot Store in Missouri because I wanted coloring books that felt like a rest instead of a chore. No microscopic mandalas, no hair-thin lines. Just warm, playful pages that help you unwind.

    Good to know

    Questions,
    answered.

What does 'bold and easy' mean in a coloring book?
A bold and easy coloring book uses thick, heavy outlines and large, simple shapes. It prevents eye strain, forgives wobbly hands, and lets you finish a page in one sitting. Most of our main shelf is drawn this way, and every book page says which style it is.
Are all of your books bold and easy?
No, and we label each one. The main shelf (birds, plants, sea creatures, sloths, vegetables, sewing rooms, hymns, the Halloween bakery, December Days, Uplifting Words) is bold and easy. The four Brown Sugar books and Mara at Home are drawn in more detail: fuller scenes, patterned fabrics, natural hair drawn strand by strand. They take longer and reward it, and they are still large print and single-sided. Activity books such as Way Back When: 1960s mix word searches, conversation starters and a smaller number of coloring pages, all in large type.
Do markers bleed through your coloring books?
Not onto another picture. Every coloring book is printed so that no design sits on the back of another: behind each one is a blank page, or in a few books a short fact or affirmation. Alcohol markers can still soak through the paper itself, so slip a scrap sheet behind the page you are working on.
Are these coloring books suitable for seniors?
Yes. Most of the shelf was made with older colorists in mind: large print, thick outlines and big open shapes that need less precision and a lighter grip than detailed adult books. Each book page says who it suits, and there is a free sample page to try first.
Can I try a page before I buy a book?
Yes. Every book has a free sample page to download and print before you buy, on its book page and on the Free Coloring Pages page.
Where can I buy The Paper Riot Store coloring books?
Printable PDF editions are sold right here on this site, as instant downloads. Paperback editions are on Amazon. Every book page on this site links to both, and free sample pages from every title are available to print before you buy.
Are your coloring books available as printable PDF downloads?
Yes. Every title is available as a printable PDF, sold right here on this site. Each file is high resolution, one design per page, and prints on US Letter or A4 paper (the square books are 8.5 x 8.5 inches on the page). You can print it as many times as you like for yourself and your family. Groups and facilities use a group license, from $24.99 a title. See group licenses →
